All workshops scheduled for 2020 have been cancelled due to COVID-19. Please check back in the early fall for the 2021 offerings.
This workshop is a hands-on opportunity to create a variety of baskets from wild gathered materials. Come learn to craft baskets from native, naturalized, and invasive plants. We will be primarily working with barks and vines found in New Jersey; gathered and prepared by the instructor. There will be plenty of information shared about locating and processing your own materials from the wild (but we will not be harvesting in the park). Prior basket weaving experience is not necessary but would be helpful. Beginner and Beyond
Tuition: $615 (lunch is included)
Studio/Materials Fee: $100
Registration Fee: $30* (listed as "shipping" in cart) *Members use coupon code WAIVEFEE at check-out

Steven R. Carty is a second generation basket weaver from South Jersey who has taught basket weaving for many years. He has taught multiple forms of basket weaving; however the utilization of wild gathered materials in his weaving is truly a passion of his. He strives to teach others how to create usable art straight from nature, and in a way that is sustainable.
Please Note:The Dining Hall is closed for the season so participants are responsible for their own breakfast & dinner. Kitchens are available in the dorms for those staying on campus.
