Collagraphy is a relief-printing process that involves attaching low relief shapes, fibers, or textured materials to a sturdy substrate such as cardboard or mat board. This collaged surface is sealed, then inked and printed allowing one to make multiple prints from the plate. You will make several collagraph plates, and print them on paper as well as fabric. We will print with and without a press allowing you to experience different approaches. Mixed media techniques will be covered as a way to enhance the possibilities inherent in collagraphy.
