All workshops scheduled for 2020 have been cancelled due to COVID-19. Please check back in the early fall for the 2021 offerings.
Create unique and dramatic effects on your pottery with Crystalline Glazes during this intensive two day workshop. We will start the workshop with a demonstration on how to make and fit pedestals and catch basins. We will then glaze the bisqueware that you bring and begin firing. While the pieces start their kiln journey, we will dive into the glaze chemistry, kiln programming, and all the post-firing work that crystalline wares require. During the second day of the workshop there will be throwing demos of forms that are most conducive to crystal growth and time for hands on throwing while the class waits for the kiln to cool. Pieces created for the workshop should be made with S182 [with grog] white stoneware or Bmix10. Porcelain clay bodies are fine but not highly recommended. Beginner and Beyond
