This year’s annual firing of the Peters Valley anagama kiln is going to be special. Not only does 2020 mark the Valley’s 50th Anniversary as one of the country’s leading crafts schools, but it is also this year’s instructor’s 20th year organizing this historic kiln’s firing. You will learn pre-fire preparations, complex loading techniques, and an endless armory of stoking methods to develop woodfired atmospheres. This Dragon has much to teach us about teamwork, achieving surfaces that only this sort of wood firing can provide, and gathering into your “toolbelt” a myriad of pyroplastic principles!
