All workshops scheduled for 2020 have been cancelled due to COVID-19. Please check back in the early fall for the 2021 offerings.
Learn loose, playful techniques for combining handbuilding and throwing on electric and manual potter's wheels. Stretch your comfort zone and skills with larger vessels by additively coiling, throwing, and torching; and we'll decorate and sculpt onto the vessels to tell stories through sgraffito, pattern, image, and relief. Together we'll look at the forms and decoration of historical vessels as ritual objects and cultural markers. You need to be comfortable with the potter's wheel and/or coil building on banding wheels, and be willing to work loose and go big! This workshop is appropriate for anyone from advanced beginner to very advanced. Advanced Beginner and Beyond
