Pewter is a malleable metal alloy that can easily be formed and cast. In this workshop you will learn how to fabricate with pewter sheet to make a small hollow container. We will then learn how to cast pewter in order to attach embellishments to the vessels such as handles or feet. Beginner and Beyond

Lucy Louise Derickson is an artist, metalsmith and educator residing in Washington, DC. Currently, Lucy is the Coordinator of the Jewelry/Metalsmithing and Crafts Area at Montgomery College, Rockville Maryland and is a board member of the non-profit organization Ethical Metalsmiths (EM), where she works as the facilitator to EM Students. Having received her BFA in Jewelry/Metalsmithing along with a Teaching Certification from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee, Lucy taught K-12 art for two years. She then received her MFA from Virginia Commonwealth University in the department of Craft/Material Studies. www.lucyderickson.com
