Learn how to effectively solder small and large scale pieces! You will be introduced to a variety of techniques from pick to stick soldering. Build your confidence level with the torch by soldering samples of chain, bezel settings, a hinge, and a pressure fit box. You will develop an understanding of how to control the flame of the torch, what makes solder flow, and how to problem solve quickly. This workshop is open to all levels of soldering skills but it is encouraged that you have basic knowledge of jewelry and metalsmithing. Advanced Beginner and Beyond

Maureen Duffy is a studio jewelry artist and professor who lives and works in Philadelphia, PA. She is an adjunct Jewelry and Metalsmithing professor at Tyler School of Art and Architecture, Towson University, and Rowan University. She also is an instructor at Fleisher Art Memorial, one of the oldest art centers in the country, where she has helped build the jewelry program that is only a few years old.
