Create a portfolio of work that captures the beauty and wonder of the natural landscape, using tried and true techniques. You will be given instruction about the importance of light quality, leading lines and framing. Discussions on understanding Depth-Of-Field, showing or stopping motion and creating High Dynamic Range images, as well as large scale panoramas will blend with a series of daily field trips to the surrounding woods, streams and meadows. Digital editing will be done with the Adobe Creative Suite of products, most specifically Adobe Photo, Adobe Bridge and Lightroom.You should have an understanding of manual camera controls and basic editing workflow techniques. A 35mm DSLR is preferred, as is a sturdy tripod. Advanced Beginner and Beyond

Tim Jacobsen has been a photojournalist and freelance photographer for almost 30 years. He grew up outside of Chicago, and graduated from Winona State University (MN) with a BA in Mass Communications. A desire to tell stories with photographs and a passion for the outdoors fuel his desire to constantly create new and inspiring images. Based out of Frederick, MD, he has done work for The Washington Post, the Associated Press, Niche magazine, Maryland Life magazine, Outdoors magazine, the Sierra Club, Garrett County Chamber of Commerce and several state and county tourism boards as well as countless other regional publications.
